FAQs

How do you calculate the Airborne Viral Index?

The Airborne Viral Index is based on various scientific researches. The framework consists of four parts which influence airborne virus risk: virus survivability, immune system health, PM2.5 health impact and potential dosage. The calculation is based on CO2, temperature, humidity and PM2.5 that we can continuously monitor.

What does the Index mean?

gams’ Airborne Viral Index is an index to inform the likelihood of airborne virus transmission in an indoor space.

What do Airborne Viral Index levels means?

gams’ Airborne Viral Index is sub-categorized into 3 levels:

  • Normal Level: You should aim to keep your risk at this level where the chance of airborne virus transmission is lowered

  • Action Level: The point at which you should take action and follow some of our suggested insights in the dashboard to lower your risk back to Normal levels

  • Warning Level: Airborne virus spread is likely. Action should be taken straight away
